Brazil (Little Canary) were heartbroken last World Cup after their defence capitulated in the semi-final losing 7-1 to Germany. The largest semi-final scoreline in cup history. Brazil are the only team that have qualified for every world cup; they have also won it more than anyone (5 times).
Brazil have struggled of late however, failing to get past the quarter final in the Copa America for the past 3 tournaments, quaterter final knockouts in 2006 and 2010 World Cups and ofcourse, the humiliating defeat last time. However with the emergence of Coutinho and Neymar gaining more experience in learning how to lead from the front, things are starting to fall into place once again.
Brazil qualified comfortably this year, finishing top in South America, only losing 1 game to Chile. They scored 41 goals and only conceded 11 in 18 games, the best offensive and defensive record in the region.
Switzerland currently sit 6th on the FIFA rankings and for good reason. Coming 2nd to Portugal on goal difference in qualification the Swiss had to navigate a playoff against Northern Ireland to get to Russia. They are a team that won't set the world on fire, but rather defend stoutly and hit teams on the counter or from set pieces.
A team filled with very experienced players form around the big European leagues, including Liechsteiner from Italian Champions Juventus, Xhaka from Arsenal; the Swiss are very pragmatic with their approach to the game. They have kept a clean sheet in 10 of their past 13 games.
The Swiss are strong, stout defenders who will not let give up any "free" goals. Brazil however, don't need an invitation to get into your goal, with a midfield of maestros and an in-form Neymar, they will be hard to stop. Brazil 2-0.
